Take me away from this island,

of agony and despair,

I’ll trade it for one that’s more spacious,

And comes with a partner that cares,

I’d give up the sand and the beaches to find,

Someone who is wanting to stand by my side,

Someone who will listen and is willing to learn, 

And not just waiting to speak on their turn.

Together we will share the moments of this life,

And take on the storms or whatever else arrives…

Take me away from this island..

There’s nothing here for me now,

Wash me ashore and pull me aside,

Look in my eyes and say its alright,

A head full of questions, and a pocket full of lies,

A past filled with fear, though I’m still willing to try… again..
